From EQ2i, the EverQuest II wiki

(moved over from Category:Armorsmith)

Armorsmithing is an artisan level 20 branch off of the Outfitter crafting specialty. As implied in the name, armorsmiths create armor, but only of the chain and plate variety, tailors make leather and cloth.

Basic armorsmithing recipes can be bought from crafting trainers, but the more advanced recipe books (using rare components) must be taken from the rapidly cooling bodies of enemy monsters. The monster level directly corresponds to the level of the book, ie. a level 25 monster will drop a book of advanced recipes for armorsmithing with an artisan level of 25. This is true for all tradeskills and specialties.

Armorsmiths use Roots, Leather and Ore to make their armor. This is profession is recommended for fighters and scouts who would prefer to make their own armor.

Armorer
J.E. Sawyer's Fallout RPG
requirements: IN 4, Mechanics 5
ranks: 1
benefit: You have +5 to your skill when making qualifying equipment. Requires a Mechanics Shop.
The following is based on J.E. Sawyer's Fallout RPG and has not been confirmed by canon sources.

Armorer is a perk in J.E. Sawyer's Fallout Role-Playing Game. It might have been initially been created for Van Buren, the cancelled Fallout 3 by Black Isle.

You are extremely skilled at making conventional body armor (all non-Power and non-Tesla armor). You have +5 to your skill when making qualifying equipment. Requires a Mechanics Shop.

Notes

Instead of pure SPECIAL, J.E. Sawyer's Fallout Role-Playing Game uses a SPECIAL-derived system called Simple which is not fully compatible with SPECIAL as seen in the Fallout games.
