Arman Ronserd was an Egyptologist and author specializing in ancient Egypt. He had written many works, and Captain Noel Turner, an amateur egyptologist himself, owned many of Ronserd's works. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Catalyst, Part One") He was reading one while in isolation in 2372. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Isolation")

Ronserd believed alien technology could have been used by the Egyptians to build the pyramids, his proof being the precise measurements used in their construction and the strong influence of stars and stellar cartography in their alignment with various stars throughout the year. (Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions: "Isolation")
