Dialogue

In Boreas Seabed:

"I am Champion of the Turtle. I will win this day, do not doubt it.
We of the Turtle take the time to study our opponents. Because I have studied my enemies carefully, they cannot stand against me. And neither can you, outsider."

When spoken to in the Divine Path:

"You are quite strong, (character name). You should join us in our fight against the Kurzicks."

Quotes

During the Boreas Seabed mission:

  • "Are you ready to die?"
  • "Forgive me, my friends." (when defeated)

Argo, Mage Henchman

Profession: Elementalist, specializing in Fire Magic
Armament: Staff

After the Convocation, he offers his services as a henchman.

Evaluation

Argo can pressure enemy teams very well. His burning, AoE damage and knockdown make him a very potent damage dealer. However, he hasn't got very good energy management when it comes to spamming his skills and has two skills that cause exhaustion. The only selfheal he has is Aura of restoration, which wouldn't be enough when Argo is in danger.

Dialogue

"Hello again, (character name). As the victor of this year's Convocation, you have earned the right to fight with a Champion at your side. I have no doubt that together we can turn the tide of this war.
Did you need something?"

Quotes

While idle in the Jade Sea:

  • "Have you met my Seaguard, Hala? I suspect she may take my place as Champion someday. She is very talented."
  • "I had a chance to be a Captain, once, but I think my time is better spent on the front lines."
  • "War with the Kurzicks has been hard, but our people will persevere."

Battle quotes:

  • "Be gone, you blight!"
  • "Feel my wrath!"
  • "Feel the might of the Turtle!"
  • "Feel the power of the elements!"
  • "For Cavalon!"
  • "Hear my voice and tremble!"
  • "No power can stand before me!"
  • "You cannot hope to defeat us!"
  • "You will not prevail!"

Notes

  • He is the only Champion with his own unique armor.

Trivia

  • Argo might be named after the ship of Jason and the Argonauts.
  • Another possible source of his name is Ka D'Argo, a Luxan warrior, from the television series Farscape.

Halo

(Redirected to UNSC Argo article)

From Halopedia, the Halo Wiki

The Argo was a UNSC scout ship operated by the Colonial Military Administration[1]. Though small, it was equipped with a Shaw-Fujikawa Slipspace Drive.

It was sent to the Harvest system in 2525 after the UNSC lost all contact with that world. It sent a signal back, informing its location after dropping out of Slipspace, (presumably to aid in further increasing Slipspace jump accuracy), but after that, nothing was heard from it. The UNSC lost contact with it on the 20th of April, 2525.[2] It met a Covenant cruiser in orbit, still in the process of glassing Harvest, and was destroyed. JOTUNs under the control of Mack, Harvest's agricultural AI, witnessed the Argo enter orbit, and tried to warn them off, but, with communications options limited, Mack was unable to warn them in time[3]. Battlegroup Four, lead by Captain Maribeau Veredi on the UNSC Heracles, was dispatched to find out what happened to the Argo. [4].

Trivia

  • The ship was presumably named after the Argo, Jason's ship in Greek Myth. It was said to have been planned or constructed with the help of the goddess Athena, and on which Jason and the Argonauts sailed to Colchis retrieve the Golden Fleece. It was named after the ship builder, Argus.

History

Argo (the Almighty) is the son of Hercules and an unnamed woman. When Hercules left Argo and his mother to fight a battle with the Avengers and never returned, it broke Argo's mother's heart. Argo dedicated himself to becoming a trained superhero so that he could one day find Hercules and face him. When he heard of the re-birth of the Avengers, he sought them out for their help in finding his father, he broke into their mansion and faced them in combat. After they captured him, he explained that he was looking for his missing father, Hercules.

The Avengers followed a lead to Mount Athena where they discovered Hercules, driven mad with grief. Argo attacked Herc, releasing all the anger he felt having been abandoned. Thunderstrike knocked some sense into him and once Hercules explained how heavy his heart was, Argo was able to comfort him.

Later when A-Next was attacked by a rival team of villains (the Revengers), Argo fought for his friends (along with other allies of A-Next) and when the battle was won, Argo accepts membership in A-Next.

Argo is seen fighting Galactus with A-Next in Last Planet Standing.
