Synopsis for "Demons in Thought & Deed"

In Crastinus, city of the Idylists, Aqualad recovers from his injuries. He argues with Aquaman for bringing him back to the city that once exiled him. The two soon make peace and go their separate ways.

Aquaman returns to New York to meet with U.N. adviser, Richard Mission. He prepares to conduct his second address to the United Nations security council. Mission outfits Aquaman with a bulletproof vest in case he is attacked again.

Elsewhere, Jordan Wylie hires the assassin Nicodemus, protégé of the NKVDemon, to assassinate Aquaman. He first attacks Aquaman in his temporary apartment. Aquaman is still recovering from his recent injuries and is not operating at 100%. Fortunately, Batman arrives to lend him a hand. The fight carries over to the rooftop, but Nicodemus manages to get away. Aquaman thanks Batman for the assist, but tells him that he needs to take this guy down on his own.

Later, Aquaman has a second encounter with Nicodemus. He is surprised that he is able to zone in on his location using his telepathy. Aquaman finally takes him down and Nicodemus is arrested. In the prison, a corrupt guard (on Wylie's payroll) kills Nicodemus for his failure to assassinate Aquaman.

Notes

  • Mister Mission's first name, Richard, is revealed in this issue.
  • Martina Mericloinka appeared last in Aquaman #4.
  • Nicodemus is not to be confused with Gregor Dosynski, the original NKVDemon. Nicodemus is Dosynski's apprentice.

Trivia

  • No trivia.
