An anthology is a collection of different stories that are published in a single volume. Since the late 1990s, Pocket Books has printed several anthologies of short stories focusing on a specific series or theme, these include the fan written Strange New World collections and books printed as part of a series' anniversary celebrations. More recently they have began printing short novels in anthologies. Anthologies collecting previously published works are omnibuses.

Anthology can also refer to a series of publications; The novel series Star Trek: The Lost Era and comic series Star Trek: Unlimited are both anthology series as they have no singular setting but instead collect together different stories.
