The Chinese ambassador is a character who was met by Jin in "Ji Yeon". Jin had bought the ambassador a panda bear plush doll, as a congratulations for his newborn grandson. Jin gave him a message from Mr. Paik, stating that they looked forward to doing business with China. Upon hearing this, the ambassador told Jin to inform Mr. Paik that he would be in touch. He then returned to the hospital room to show the bear to his grandson. ("Ji Yeon")

History of character is unknown.
An ambassador officially represents one government or political entity to another, or to a group or conglomerate of governments, in a diplomatic fashion. He or she also leads the embassy and its team. Within the United Federation of Planets, an ambassador can represent either a member world within the Federation or the Federation itself to non-member worlds. (TOS: "Journey to Babel")
An ambassador was a diplomatic official accredited to a government, or to an international organization, to serve as the official representative of his or her own government. While the specific powers and duties of ambassadors varied across governments, planets and eras, they typically oversaw any embassy functions, staff and property, and as such were afforded diplomatic immunity. Sometimes when the diplomatic mission was too dangerous, Jedi Knights were sent in their place, because of their negotiation skills.
In the often turbulent times of the galaxy, ambassadors played an important role in facilitating cessations of hostilities or expansions of friendly relationships.
