From Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki.

A writing system was a methodology of portraying notions concepts or vocal sounds of a particular language. Writing could be on paper, datapad, or a display on a viewscreen. Many of these systems were used throughout the galaxy, perhaps at least one written script for each language.

Aurebesh was the formal and most common system for Galactic Basic. Naboo, although a Basic speaking member of the Republic, also utilized alternatively two separate systems; Futhark was used for formal designations, such as on a starship's hull, and Futhork was used for informal writing.
