Before he was an officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise...
Leonard McCoy was a medical student at Starfleet Academy looking forward to the winter break. He was just trying to have some fun when a football game on Academy grounds got out of hand, and all thanks to that upstart cadet named Kirk. Now McCoy is stuck at the Academy during the break. If only Kirk hadn't gotten him into trouble....
But it's too late for regrets. McCoy has been "volunteered" for the Disaster Relief Service Club. Now he and a humorless Vulcan named Spock are risking their lives to save earthquake victims on the planet Playamar. Constant aftershocks are hampering their efforts, though, and Spock and McCoy begin to wonder: Is this a natural disaster, or are more sinister forces at work?

Max Dillon fell in love with a young woman named Marilyn, who never married Max because of his criminal history as Electro, but did have a child with him. Their daughter Allison inherits her father's electrical abilities, and due to slight differences in the polarities of Max and Allison's electrical fields, the slightest physical contact with each other burns them.
Max returns to his criminal ways as Electro and is sent to prison, and Marilyn dies of cancer. Young Allison is placed in foster care, where she is bounced from one home to another. In her teens, Allison designs a costume very similar to her father's Electro costume. Furthermore, she decides to use her powers to be a criminal like her father. She tries to rob a jewelry store at a mall, but is stopped by Spider-Girl. Later, using the codename "Aftershock", Allison attempts to rob some armored cars, but again she was stopped by Spider-Girl.
Electro found out about his daughter's criminal ways, and contacts Spider-Girl's father, Spider-Man, so that the three could confront Aftershock. Electro convinces his daughter to return with him, and that they would find a way to overcome their inability to touch. She agrees and leaves with him. She has not returned to her criminal ways since.

Aftershock is one of many power-enhancing Mini-Cons scattered across Earth, and a member of the Green Mini-Con Team. When Powerlinxed to a larger Transformer, Aftershock transforms into a heavy cannon that can be charged up to increase the power of its blasts.
Though he may have been different once, the war has turned Aftershock into a sociopathic misanthrope, filled with scorn for both Autobots and Decepticons alike. He'll agree to Powerlinx with anyone so long as it means a high body count; of course, he's really just killing time until one side finally claims victory. Then he'll only have half as many bulks to destroy.[1]

Aftershock was discovered onboard Starscream's spaceship when the Decepticon crashed it into the mountainside in an attempt to destroy the Autobots. Following the defeat of Megatron, he and the other Mini-Cons returned to Cybertron and helped form the Matrix Cannon, Nemesis Shield and Vanguard Booster, giving the Autobots the power needed to destroy Unicron.
