Admiral is a rank of flag officer in naval services and space forces, such as Starfleet and the Romulan Star Navy. In the most basic officer rank schemes, admirals are a grade higher than a captain and are the highest possible grades in most rank structures, although some organizations will use the rank of commodore in between captains and admirals, which is also used as a title for lower ranking commanders who are nominally in charge of others of the same rank. The admiral rank is roughly equivalent with the authority of a general of military forces. The Klingon Defense Force has an admiral rank, referred to as'aj in Klingonese. In the Cardassian Union, legate is a Cardassian flag officer rank title which, in translation to Federation Standard, is approximately equivalent to senior admirals.
In military parlance, it is often acceptable and normal to refer to any grade of admiral simply as "admiral" in most forms of address. In order to establish a hierarchy of command, numerous grades exist in various different systems to distinguish admirals from each other.

The Admiral is a 4-door sedan featured in GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City Stories, GTA IV and GTA: Chinatown Wars.

In GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City Stories, the car resembles a 1980s Mercedes-Benz W123. In GTA San Andreas, it appears to feature a minor 1990s facelift.
Performance wise, the car is generally acceptable with light weight, stable handling, and good acceleration and top speed, to the point it is offered as a starter car which the player may first control in GTA Vice City. Surprisingly, it is front-wheel drive, which is the biggest difference from the original W123.

In GTA IV, the Admiral retains its 4-door sedan form, and is manufactured by Dundreary. Its chassis generally resembles that of the 2003-2005 Mercury Grand Marquis (albeit with a more streamlined greenhouse) or 2003-present Lincoln Town Car, with a more even roof; the front of the car in particular resembles the Grand Marquis; the taillights strangely share a similar (and probably coincidental) design to those of the 1982-1986 Toyota Camry. The Admiral also serves as the base chassis for the GTA IV Stretch. The reverse lights feature the Dundreary logo, however, they are absent on the Stretch.
The GTA IV version of the car generally performs as one would expect from a large, heavy sedan, in comparison to its previous renditions' smaller lighter counterparts. While possessing good horsepower, the vehicle's weight hampers its acceleration and handling but provides the car with better endurance.
In GTA Chinatown Wars, the Admiral resembles the Admiral pre-GTA IV. The Admiral arguably looks likes like an old Lincoln, similar to the Marbelle in GTA IV but the rear is unlike any Lincoln or Mercedes. Some drug dealers store drugs in the trunks of Admirals; in the drug dealing screens, the rear of the car resembles an '80s Lincoln. In addition to a regular Admiral, dark purple Admirals with cream tops commonly spawn parked in Triad territories, especially in Cerveza Heights; the cars may thus qualify as gang cars for the Triads alongside the Triad Hellenbach, even though the car does not spawn in traffic to indicate who drives it.
In addition, performance between GTA Chinatown Wars's two Admiral variants vary, with the regular Admiral being slightly slower in acceleration and top speed; handling is otherwise nigh-similar. In addition, both variants emit difference engine noise, with the regular Admiral emitting a clunky one while the "Triad" Admiral's engine noise is smoother.

In GTA Vice City, during a Colonel Cortez mission named "Guardian Angels", Ricardo Diaz arrives at the deal location with his personal car and three bodyguards. If the player kills Diaz and his bodyguards, thus failing the mission, they can take the Admiral to a garage and keep it.
The virtually indestructible vehicle can be very useful in a missions such as "Death Row", or other challenging pursuits which require going into a hostile area. Although the Admiral is indestructible, there are a few weaknesses:
If the player uses the car, it is recommended that they don't leave it anywhere, even if it's close to their position, the game will most likely make it disappear - unless it is stored in a garage.
The indestructible Admiral was carried over to San Andreas. As in San Andreas, it can only be found in one mission, namely Los Sepulcros. To acquire the Admiral, take a tow truck and save it in the garage; once the mission starts, retrieve the tow truck, drive it to the cemetery, shoot the Ballas to fail the mission, tow the Admiral to a garage, and save it.

Admiral is a senior commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Navy, equal in rank to General in the UNSC Marine Corps, UNSC Air Force, and UNSC Army. It is immediately below the rank of Fleet Admiral, the highest known UNSC Navy rank.
While Admiral is a rank of its own, the title "Admiral" is often used to refer to any of the flag officer ranks of the UNSC Navy:
Due to the ambiguity of the title "Admiral", Admirals are often known as a "Four Star Admiral" or "Full Admiral" to distinguish it from subordinate ranks of Admiral. The term "Four Star Admiral" comes from the rank insignia worn on the uniform.

The admiral military rank usually is amongst the highest rank officers can obtain in a naval service organization amongst several civilizations. The rank below admiral is usually captain, and the difference between the ranks is whereas a captain usually is the commanding officer of one starship, starbase or unit, an admiral is the commanding officer of several starships (or a fleet or armada of ships). In ground-based militaries, the equivalent of this rank would usually be a general. Earth Starfleet, Federation Starfleet, the Romulan Star Empire and the Klingon Empire all use this rank in some form. The Cardassian equivalent is legate.
Ar'nal was a Romulan rank that was roughly equivalent to the rank of admiral used by other militaries. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)

Starfleet uses several grades of this rank. The different grades are sometimes referred to by the number of "stars" on the respective grade's insignia. (USS Baldwin: "Frontiers")
The grades are:

The title of Admiral signified senior command rank in many navies and starfleets. Admirals, also known generally as flag officers, were typically responsible for a high level military command at battle group or fleet level, and/or for administrative and political duties relating to naval operations.
Contents |
Most navies made use of various grades of admiral, with the basic hierarchy of Rear Admiral, Vice Admiral and full admiral seemingly almost universal. Below rear-admiral, the position of commodore was often regarded as a junior flag rank, and at least one instance of a Brevet-Admiral is known. Some navies also had superior flag ranks above full Admiral, such as the Admiral of the Fleet in the Rebel Alliance and New Republic, and Grand Admirals under the Galactic Empire and the Galactic Alliance.
A number of Admirals were known to have served the Galactic Republic in the fortieth century BBY, during the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War, but the use of the title seems to have been reasonably restricted: in the Great Sith War, the main Republic fleet had been commanded by Captain Vanicus, and captains like Saul Karath continued to serve subsequently as battle group commanders.
Little is known about flag ranks in the subsequent millennia of Old Republic history, and during the Clone Wars, captains like Gilad Pellaeon and Sagoro Autem were once again found as squadron and fleet commanders. However, a few admirals were known to have held field commands, such as Arikakon Baraka, a Mon Calamari who commanded the supercruiser Nexu, and the Sakiyan Tarnese Bleyd, who commanded at Drongar. Curiously, whereas Pellaeon and Autem commanded significant task forces of capital ships, these admirals apparently had only their own command ships and attached surface units under their authority, but it may be significant that both Bleyd and Baraka seem to have had no Jedi Generals in their chain of command, and were thus the ultimate authority for the clone troopers of their commands.
Other flag officers held high positions on Coruscant, a situation that perhaps predated the Clone Wars, and indeed may have continued from before the Ruusan Reformation. An admiral named Jerjerrod is recorded serving at Naval Command, while an Admiral Kiner is named as the Republic's last important counter-espionage expert before its security and spying networks were amalgamated into Imperial Intelligence. Ronnan Tyla Vedij may likewise have reached flag rank under the Republic rather than the New Order.
Under the Rebel Alliance, each battle line was commanded by a Line Admiral: the only two officers who can be said to have held a different level of flag rank are Ackbar, styled "Admiral of the Fleet" as the Alliance's overall naval commander, and the Quarren Wirriz, who is known to have held the rank of vice admiral. Wirriz's rank probably indicates the use of the standard three-tier structure of flag ranks within Alliance forces, but in the absence of further proof, other interpretations remain possible: for instance, the title of Vice Admiral might have been accorded to the naval second-in-command, with all further flag officers being line admirals.
Under the New Republic, the ranks of commodore, rear admiral and vice admiral are recorded explicitly, and it is likely that full admirals also existed, although the more ambiguous range of meaning of the simple term admiral means that conclusive evidence is lacking. Thus, while it is known that an admiral was graded 'C-1' and regarded as equivalent to a general in the chain of command, it may be that this definition in fact extended to all New Republic flag officers.
Strictly speaking, there is only actually evidence for a rank of "Vice Admiral (retired)", held by the veteran Bothan commander Kursk Mal'ia, after he stood down from active duty. This could have been an honorary appointment granted at the end of a career, and as with the Rebellion, it cannot ultimately be ruled out that all active-duty "admirals" in the New Republic were, in fact, basically rear admirals.
At the head of the New Republic fleet hierarchy, the style "Admiral of the Fleet" remained Ackbar's unique prerogative, reflecting his decades of service as Supreme Commander. Perhaps in respect of Ackbar's reputation, his successor Sien Sovv opted to use the title fleet admiral instead, which was awarded to at least one other admiral serving alongside him during the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Bothan Traest Kre'fey.
In the Imperial Navy, to cope with the immense expansion in the size of the fleet, a number of additional flag ranks were created within the Sector Group hierarchy. A simple style of admiral denoted the lowest of these grades, indicating command of a squadron of capital ships, and a rank not markedly higher than Captain of the Line. Above this came a hierarchy of Systems Admirals and fleet admirals under the High Admiral of the Sector, usually a Moff. An admiral in the Imperial Navy commanded ten times as many forces as an admiral of the same rank did under the Galactic Republic.
The Empire also retained a normal hierarchy of rear admirals, vice admirals, and full admirals, but the exact relationship of these ranks to the Sector Group titles is unclear. What is known for sure is that Michael Unther, having previously served as a fleet admiral or even a High Admiral, was subsequently promoted to rear admiral, normally the most junior substantive flag rank. It is possible that many Sector Group Admirals may have been little more than senior captains, in a system perhaps connected with the unusual usage of the title of commander recorded in the Imperial Navy.
In 2 BBY, a rank of Grand Admiral was created, ranking above all other Imperial flag officers, but shortly before the Battle of Endor, Lord Darth Vader was appointed Supreme Commander.
In the Confederation during the Second Galactic Civil War, the military forces were led by people holding the rank of Admiral. The most notable of these was Wedge Antilles, who briefly commanded the Corellian forces until breaking with the government in the aftermath of their attempted assassination of Tenel Ka.
This list does not include military officers who were eventually promoted to a rank higher than admiral, such as Grand Admiral.

The Admiral, known in Japan as Anacis 「アナシス, Anashisu」 is a man who travels the sea in a submarine and docks at Duel Academy. Arrogant and ambitious, he believes that everything (and everyone) in the world can be bought with money. Admiral challenges Jaden to a duel, who at first thought he was one of the Shadow Riders because the microphone feedback obscured Umi no Duel (Duel of the Sea) into Yami no Duel (Duel of Darkness), and due to his interest in the Sacred Beasts. Halfway through the duel, the Admiral offers Jaden a position in the new Duel Academy he was building under the sea. When Jaden rejects the offer, he places a bet on the outcome of the duel. Even though he ultimately loses the duel, the Admiral kidnaps Jaden, who isn't seen until a week later, riding on a motorboat and claiming to have escaped when the Admiral wasn't looking.
In the English dub, the Admiral has a stereotypical pirate accent, and uses phrases such as “Shiver me timbers!”, in addition to making references to “doubloons” and “booty”. In the original version, he ends his sentences with cchuu, roughly equating to "I say"
The Admiral uses a Deepsea Deck based around the Field Spell Card "A Legendary Ocean" and focuses on summoning powerful monsters such as "Levia-Dragon - Daedalus".
