Adamant platebody: Misc

Up to date as of February 07, 2010

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Adamant platebody is the third-best standard platebody. A player with 88 Smithing can make an adamant platebody by using five adamantite bars on an anvil while carrying a hammer, granting 312.5 smithing experience per platebody. It requires level 30 Defence to wear.

Adamant platebodies are often used by players who can wear Rune armour but have not completed Dragon Slayer, or cannot afford a Rune platebody.

Most adamant platebodies enter the game from smiths who use them to gain fast experience. Smithing adamant platebodies can be over 200,000 smithing experience per hour; however, over 2 million coins are lost per hour as well. The experience can be gained at half price if Sacred clay hammers are used, although overall it takes more time due to the need to play the Stealing Creation minigame to get the hammers.

Most adamant platebodies leave the game by high alchemy, due to their Grand Exchange price being lower than their high alchemy price. Although only 100 adamant platebodies may be purchased on the Grand Exchange per four hours, adamant platebodies may be alched on F2P, making them a popular item to alch.

Trimmed versions

Decorative versions of the adamant platebody (as well as other adamant armour) may be obtained from level 2 Treasure trails. The decorative versions give the same stats as the regular version, but cost more.

Trimmed armour may only be obtained through treasure trails or purchase. Players cannot trim armour themselves, or smith trimmed armour.
