Acid could be found on many planets, including large bodies of acid. The seas of Marinus (DW: The Keys of Marinus), 16 Alpha Leonis One (NA: Eternity Weeps) and Endpoint were all composed of acid. (EDA: Hope) The planet Vortis also had pools of acid on its surface. (DW: The Web Planet) Skaro had a river of acid, where the Dalek Emperor attempted to kill Zeg. (DC: Duel of the Daleks)

An acid is a type of chemical compound. Strong acids can react violently, with a corrosive effect on metals.

The Horta have glands which produce acid which allow them to burrow through rock. When a Horta is confused or scared they sometimes lose control of their acid glands and squirt their acid around them, which can cause extensive damage to anything it happens to come into contact with. (TOS episode: The Devil in the Dark; DS9 novel: Devil in the Sky)

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-

Acid is an enemy ability used by Bizarre Bug which deals physical, non-elemental damage as well as Poison.

Final Fantasy VIII

Learned by Quistis. Acid does damage and may add Vit 0, Poison, Petrify, and/or Darkness status effects, as well as inflicting non-elemental damage. However, this all depends on the Crisis Level that Quistis is in. The lower her HP when used, the higher the chance of using the highest Crisis Level version of this move. The statistics of this spell is as follows per Crisis Level:

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

Acid is learned from Flans and inflicts a random status ailment on the target.

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

Acid is used by the Flan family and inflicts a random status ailment on the target. Blue Mages cannot learn this ability though.
