For the system formerly known as Achievement Experience, see Alternate Advancement.
For an alphabetic listing of Achievements, see the category page.

View your Achievements on the third tab of your Journal.

The Achievements System is a way of keeping track of your exploits and accomplishments throughout the world of Norrath. First introduced in GU53, the achievements system covers almost every aspect of EverQuest II: from location discoveries to named monster kills to crafting level. Achievements are tracked passively, meaning you do not have to do anything special in order to receive credit for something that you do.

What are Achievements?

Achievements are a way the game formally recognizes your accomplishments. While most achievements do not give a reward, a select few that are more difficult or more encompassing do reward appearance armor or house items.

Fallout 3 achievements and trophies

Achievements and trophies are systems for measuring a player's progress in completing a game, employed by Microsoft's Xbox Live (achievements) and Sony's PlayStation Network (trophies). They are typically awarded to players for making specific accomplishments or reaching certain milestones in games.

The first game in the Fallout series to feature achievements and trophies was Fallout 3.

Achievements are Microsoft's implementation of the system, initially introduced for the Xbox 360. Unlocking achievements contributes to a player's "Gamerscore" (G) in his or her Xbox Live profile. Usually, retail games offer up to 1,000G spread over a variable number of achievements. Game developers also have the option of adding up to 250 points via downloadable content every quarter after the first year of release (for a total of 1,750 points).

Trophies are Sony's version of an achievement tracking system and were introduced in the PlayStation 3 system software 2.40 update in July 2008. There are four different types of trophies: bronze, silver, gold and platinum.

A gold, silver or bronze trophy is normally awarded based on the difficulty of the accomplishment, with each trophy contributing to a "level" system linked to a player's PlayStation Network profile. Gold trophies contribute more experience level advancement than silver, and silver contributes more experience than bronze.

A platinum trophy is awarded to the player once they unlock all other trophies in a game. However, smaller games such as certain PlayStation Network titles, lack a platinum trophy. Trophies are displayed on a player's PlayStation Network profile screen, which also shows their level.

From Grand Theft Wiki

There are 50 Achievements in the Xbox 360 and PC versions with additional 5 new in Xbox 360 DLC episode The Lost and Damned, 10 new in the upcoming DLC The Ballad of Gay Tony and 51 Trophies in the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. More achievements of The Lost and Damned downloadable content and the new achievements of The Ballad of Gay Tony are added here.

While Xbox 360 and PC achievements were available from the beginning in all game versions, to obtain trophies on the PS3 the player must have at least version 2.41 of the PS3 firmware and version 1.03 of GTA IV. Saved games from before these updates will not support trophies, so the game must be restarted. Some achievements/trophies are blocked temporarily in the gaming session by the use of cheats.

The Xbox 360 and PC achievements are worth a total of 1000 Gamerscore points and additional 500 points for Xbox 360's The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony with 250 points each. On the PC, achievements are tracked through the Games For Windows Live system. Since Games For Windows Live is essentially the Windows equivalent of Xbox Live, the achievements are identical and work in exactly the same way on both systems.

The "Vidmaster" set of achivments found on Halo 3.

An Achievement is a reward bestowed and given to players when they accomplish notable gaming feats and overcome significant obstacles in Windows Games for Vista and the Xbox 360 sets of games.

Most Achievements also endow upon the player Gamerpoints that count towards a gamer's total Gamerscore. These points, while not redeemable, are intended to serve as a tangible form of special rewards for unusual or skilled actions within game play.[1]

Halo Waypoint

It is worth noting that Halo Waypoint has no achievements acquirable by its users. This is likely due to the fact that they would just be rewarding players extra for achievements they had already completed. Halo Waypoint instead has Awards, achievable and viewable simply in the game itself.

(Redirected to Achievement Diaries article)

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

File:Achievment diary logo.png

The Achievement Diaries contain a list of cities and regions in RuneScape each having three sets of tasks to complete. The first diary was released on 8 May 2007. With the exception of the Lumbridge diary, the achievement diaries are for members only, as many tasks involve members' skills or quests.

To start a Diary, players will need to talk to the NPC found near the Achievement Diary icon File:Achievmentdiary.PNG on the minimap. To access the Achievement Diary journal, players should click on the green star icon File:Achievment diary logo.png in their interface. Doing this will bring up a list of cities each with available tasks, broken down into three categories, from the easiest to the hardest tasks.

The cities outlined within the Achievement Diary are colour-coded the same way as quests in the Quest List.

Once a task level under a city is selected, the task journal is displayed showing a list of tasks required to complete that level.

Completed easy tasks in Karamja Diary.

When a task is completed, players will be informed in the Chat interface, and that particular task will be struck out in the journal. Once all tasks in a category are completed, the heading (e.g., "Easy") will turn green.

Players completing all tasks in a particular category (e.g., Easy tasks) will be rewarded with experience lamps and other benefits available only to those who have completed the tasks. All level 1 tasks also reward the player with a wearable item with special properties and completing level 2 and level 3 tasks will upgrade the item (requires the player to have the item in their inventory to upgrade it).

The easiest tasks usually do not require any skill levels to complete, but the hardest tasks usually require high levels in a particular skill and/or in-depth knowledge of a particular area within RuneScape, such as TzHaar Fight Caves.

There currently is no Achievement Diary Tutor, although many NPCs, such as Sir Vant, have mentioned one.
