The Abby Cadabby walk-around full-bodied costume premiered on April 2, 2007 in Elmo and the Bookaneers at SeaWorld Orlando, and on May 5, 2007 at the Sesame Place theme park. She is a walk-around version of Abby Cadabby, who premiered on Sesame Street in August 2006.
At Sesame Place, Abby stars in a musical show, "Abby Cadabby's Treasure Hunt". In the show, Abby and her friends -- Elmo, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Grover and Oscar the Grouch -- search for the key to a magical talking treasure chest.
Abby appeared at the 2007 The White House Easter Egg Roll, on Easter Sunday, an event hosted by Laura Bush. On May 2, Abby got another test run, appearing for kindergarteners at Glenville School in Greenwich, Pennsylvania, to present the Good Neighbor Award.[1]
Abby's first appearance in a Sesame Street Live show in the 2008 show When Elmo Grows Up. The Sesame Street Live costume is 20 pounds, and has a cable cord (similar to a bicycle brake) to move the mouth. [2]
