Coronation Street history

• 1929 - Fred Gee born.
• 1969 - Dave Robbins moves a bunch of squatters into the empty No.12 Maisonette.
• 1975 - The residents are evacuated from the Street as the emergency services deal with the fire at the Mark Brittain Warehouse. The news is broken that Edna Gee has died in the fire.
• 1976 - Against Annie Walker's legal opposition, Renee Bradshaw gains a licence to sell alcohol in the Corner Shop.
• 1986 - Kevin Webster enjoys his stag night at the Rovers with free drinks laid on by Bet Lynch as a thank-you for saving her from the fire at the pub earlier in the year.
• 2000 - Liz McDonald turns up in the Street for the first time in two years.
• 2003 - Nick Tilsley tells Sarah Platt that her boyfriend Todd Grimshaw is gay. A devastated Sarah leaves Todd.
• 2008 - Becky Granger goes on a one-woman drunken crime-spree when Jason Grimshaw finishes with her.
