Coronation Street history

• 1966 - Ivan and Linda Cheveski reconcile and leave Weatherfield for Birmingham.
• 1970 - Joe Donelli confesses to Irma Barlow that he murdered Steve Tanner in 1968.
• 1987 - Eddie Yeats visits Coronation Street for the first time in four years to see his old landlady Hilda Ogden (final appearance of the character).
• 1988 - After rowing with Sandra Stubbs over Pete Shaw, Gloria Todd quits her job and leaves the street so Sandra can keep her job (final appearance of the character).
• 1998 - First appearance of Tyrone Dobbs. Ashley Peacock realises Zoe Tattersall has joined a cult of nutters.
• 2000 - Jim and Liz McDonald re-marry. Jim is currently serving a jail sentence.
• 2003 - After the death of Cecil Newton, Bet Lynch returns to Brighton (final appearance of the character). Liz McDonald goes with her.
• 2007 - Jim McDonald is released from prison, and claims to be a changed man.

• 1982 - Eric Thompson dies, he portrayed Gaston de Leran in 1966 story The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve.
