Coronation Street history

• 1966 - Dennis Tanner and Jed Stone's kennel venture goes wrong when they lose the local villain's beloved dog.
• 1970 - Lucille Hewitt returns from a seven month stay in Ireland with Concepta Hewitt. (In reality, Jennifer Moss was on maternity leave).
• 1977 - At the last minute, Rita Littlewood decides not to leave for Tenerife, but to stay and marry Len Fairclough.
• 1981 - Hilda Ogden is horrified to discover that Eddie Yeats has thrown out all of their laundry, thinking it to be rubbish as it was in a black bin bag.
• 1994 - Maud Grimes mistakes a compliment from Percy Sugden as a proposal of marriage.
• 1998 - Deirdre Rachid spends her first night in prison with cellmate Jackie Dobbs.
• 2007 - Deirdre Barlow lies badly in court in defence of her daughter, Tracy, but the prosecution tear her evidence to pieces.
• 2009 - Peter Barlow's drinking causes a fire at the flat from which he, Simon and Leanne the rabbit are rescued by Tony Gordon and Luke Strong.
