• 1985 - Ken Barlow asks Deirdre to write to Ray Langton as he wants to formally adopt Tracy.
• 1991 - Don Brennan considers divorcing wife Ivy, tired of her interference in the affairs of daughter-in-law Gail.
• 1994 - Mavis Wilton has her first-ever meeting with the fearsome Angela Hawthorne, Derek's ex-wife, when she comes to see her to allay her fears that she has designs on Derek.
• 1998 - At a night out at a club Zoe Tattersall meets Ben Andrews and Ruth Morgan who unknown to her are recruiting new followers for their religious cult.
• 2002 - Goaded beyond endurance by Aidan Critchley, Ken Barlow punches him in the classroom and is arrested by the police.
