• Iliana Ghemor, an agent of the Obsidian Order surgically altered to look like Kira Nerys and implanted with her memories, escapes from her prison where she has been held captive by Skrain Dukat since 2361. She has turned mad and is obsessed to extinct every other woman called Kira Nerys^[5]

• The Klingon Defense Force introduces the Chancellor-class starship.^[7]
• Morjod leads an attempted coup d'etat on Kronos during the return of war hero Chancellor Martok. Many of Martok's family and councillors are killed, and many vessels (including IKS Negh'Var, IKS M'ganath, IKS Ti'voH, IKS Spear of Kaltad and IKS Kerla) are destroyed before Martok's order is restored. ^[8]

Promotions and transfers

• Major Kira Nerys is promoted to Colonel. ^[9]
• Ensign Ezri Dax of the USS Destiny transfers to station Deep Space 9. She is promoted to Lieutenant junior grade and assigned as head counselor of the station. ^[9]
• Miles O'Brien transfers to a teaching position at Starfleet Academy. ^[6]
• Odo resigns as chief of security at Deep Space 9. ^[6]
• Lieutenant Commander Worf resigns as strategic operations officer, becoming Federation Ambassador to Qo'noS. ^[6]
• Colonel Kira Nerys assumes command of Deep Space 9. ^[6]
• Ensign Nog is promoted to Lieutenant junior grade, and is temporarily assigned as DS9 chief of security. ^[6][10]
• Captain Klag takes command of the IKS Gorkon.^[7]
• Lieutenant Commander Sonya Gomez, chief engineer of the USS Sentinel, is promoted to Commander, and assigned as first officer and head of the SCE contingent on the USS da Vinci. ^[11]

• William Riker and Deanna Troi renew their romantic relationship.

Alternate Timelines

• Harry Kim and Chakotay arrive in the Alpha Quadrant in the Delta Flyer via quantum slipstream drive. They had been leading the USS Voyager with the experimental drive, but excessive phase variance caused Voyager to be violently thrown out. Unknown to Chakotay and Harry, Voyager crash-landed on an icy world and was lost with all hands. ^[13]

• Stardate 52042.37: Captain Jonathan Masters is reported killed in a shuttle crash. In reality, Masters had been kidnapped by Lieutenant Commander Kristin Sela to use as a hostage. He is rescued by Enforcers from Section 214C and Starfleet Marines from the USS Swiftfire-A. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Section 214C"; "Crossfire")

February

• Lieutenant Terri Letac is lured off the USS Swiftfire-A and captured by the Dominion. She is then placed in a simulation where she believed the year was 2391. She is rescued after a few days by Special Operations Command. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "Always on My Mind")

March

• Stardate 52281.3: The new Sovereign-class starship USS Dauntless (NCC-75310), the third Federation starship to bear the name, is launched from Fleet Yards over Vulcan, under the command of Fleet Captain Peter J. Koester. (Star Trek: Dauntless)

April

• Stardate 52250.66: The USS Swiftfire-A makes first contact with the Echlans within the Helaspont Nebula. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "The Only Thing Necessary")

June

• Stardate 52162.8: The astrometrics lab, dubbed the "war room," is opened on the USS Baldwin. With help from the lab, Baldwin captain Richie Kennedy discovers and thwarts a Jem'Hadar ambush on the Fifth Fleet. (USS Baldwin: "Danger Zone")

July

• The USS Phoenix-X (NCC-75948) takes up command of a small fleet at the Flortarios sector, next to Dominion-controlled space. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Home, Part II")

August

• The USS Phoenix-X (NCC-75948) relinquishes command of the small fleet early, although the squad remains operating as a unit for a short time after. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Loyalties, Part I")

November

• 16 November: The Breen Raid on San Francisco occurs. Although the Breen are able to produce major casualties on Earth, the 10th Squadron of the Fifth Fleet attempt to contain the damage. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil"; USS Baldwin: "Trouble in Paradise"))
• 23 November: The Second Battle of Chin'toka occurs, resulting in a decisive Dominion victory. The 10th Squadron of the Fifth Fleet is assigned to guard Earth and help devise a countermeasure for the Breen energy dissipator. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil"; USS Baldwin: "Resolution") The USS Vigilant is destroyed in the battle. Lieutenant Commander Vanessa Yates is taken as a prisoner of war. (Star Trek Crusader)
• Following the battle, the USS Lapon leads a small reserve fleet into the Chin'toka system in an effort to rescue survivors. Many lives are saved before the fleet is chased off by Dominion forces. (Star Trek: New Order: Eclipse)

• The Dominion War ends in Allied (Federation, Klingon, and Romulan) victory. Over eight hundred million Cardassians are dead, and the Cardassian Union is on the brink of collapse. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")
