Coronation Street history

• 1962 - Elsie Tanner meets Dave Smith for the first time. A jealous Len Fairclough immediately fights with him in the Rovers.
• 1975 - Eddie Yeats is arrested for possession of stolen goods.
• 1986 - Kevin Webster proposes to Sally Seddon.
• 1990 - Liz McDonald begins work as a barmaid at the Rovers.
• 1993 - Jenny Bradley returns to the Street for the first time in two years with a rare Japanese Akita dog in tow that she has stolen from her ex-boyfriend.
• 1999 - Vera Duckworth is involved in car crash when Judy Mallett is her passenger. The injury that Judy sustains seems mild but one week later she would die of an embolism caused by the crash.
• 2000 - Jim McDonald is quizzed by the police over the death of Jez Quigley.
• 2001 - Maxine Peacock has a drunken fling with Matt Ramsden.
• 2003 - Jack Duckworth is arrested by the police for growing cannabis in his greenhouse.
• 2007 - Bethany Platt is rushed to hospital after taking some ecstasy pills that David hid in the head of one of her dolls.
