Coronation Street history

• 1906 - The Weatherfield pit disaster occurs, in which three residents of Street lose their lives.
• 1958 - Brian Tilsley born.
• 1962 - Len Fairclough is bound over to keep the peace after his fight with Dave Smith.
• 1969 - Mark Casey born.
• 1973 - The Barlow twins come back to the Street for the first time in two years in order that they and Janet Reid can get to know each other.
• 1975 - Tricia Hopkins and Gail Potter lose their money when a modelling agency they paid their fees in advance to goes bust.
• 1997 - Don Brennan's funeral takes place and Nick Tilsley comes back from Canada for it, saying he's back for good (First appearance of Adam Rickitt in the role).
• 1999 - Tom Ferguson's rugby-playing father Duggie, tracks him down to the Street and belittles his work as a hairdresser (First appearance of the character).
• 2003 - Hayley Cropper suggests that Roy marry Tracy Barlow to guarantee his rights over their unborn child.
• 2004 - Ciaran McCarthy confesses to Penny King the restaurant scam that he and Tracy Barlow were about to pull on her and gives her her money back. Tracy leaves him as she only wanted his money and not him.
• 2006 - The Webster family go to Paris where Kevin meets up with his father Bill for the first time in nine years.
• 2007 - Secretly invited by David Platt to spoil Sarah and Jason Grimshaw's wedding, Todd appears on the Street and joins in his brother's stag night.

Real world

• 1990 - Coronation Street's sixth title sequence (and the first to be made on video, rather than film) makes its debut.
